Food Sensitivities

Doing an “elimination diet” for a couple of weeks where you cut out certain potentially problematic foods can be extremely helpful. Often times it can be one of two foods you didn’t suspect which are causing significant health issues.

Some things to try cutting out:

  • Sugar (all of it!)
  • Gluten & Grains (Wheat, Rice, Oats, and all other grains, even Quinoa!)
    • But what about bread? Switch to Cassava chips, waffles and tortillas!
  • Corn (especially chips)
  • Nightshades which may cause inflamation
    • Tomatoes
    • Potatoes
    • Peppers
    • Eggplant
  • Dairy containing lactose
    • Milk
    • Cheese
    • Sour Cream
      • There is a lactose free sour cream available that tastes great called Green Valley

  • No enriched grains (usually wheat or rice) in processed food
  • No multivitamins that have folic acid
  • Supplement folate (only in the form of methylfolate)

Here is a supplement I take since I have the MTFHR genetic mutation. The important thing to look for is a bioactive form of Folate. This one contains Quatrefolic brand L-Methylfolate:
